Kuoni Connect enters into partnership with Travelport

Kuoni Connect, the unit of Kuoni Destination Management specialised in online distribution, has entered into partnership with Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution system providers, effective June 8th. Kuoni Connect is a leading online provider of hotels and destination services in the B2B segment.

Kuoni Connect’s clients benefit from the industry’s fastest growing global inventory of hotels and destination services. The online specialist is dedicated to expanding on and diversifying its leisure travel product portfolio. This development strategy is closely related to the strategy of Travelport and allows both companies to benefit from significant synergies.

Kuoni Connect’s over 15 000 2- to 5-star hotels in more than 1 800 destinations in Europe, Middle East, India, Asia, Africa and North America will become bookable through Travelport Leisure, Travelport’s new one-stop leisure portal for travel agents. Additionally, Kuoni Connect’s full range of destination services such as sightseeing tours, transfers, excursions, packages, and concierge services will become available on the new portal in the course of 2010.

Travelport Leisure, the upgraded version of its former Galileo Leisure portal, will be rolled out globally as of June 2010. Usage will be free of charge for all travel agents, even if they have not subscribed to a global distribution system (GDS) operated by Travelport.

“We are convinced that this cooperation will be highly beneficial to both Kuoni Connect and Travelport. This global partnership takes advantage of the strengths and key values of both companies to deliver an innovative product and quality service. The cooperation is based on common understanding of the requirements of the travel trade and the ongoing growth potential of global leisure travel,” said Ivan Walter, Vice President of Kuoni Connect.
